As with almost all Paris museums
there are free admission days to Versailles
so check to see if any coincide with your visit.
It will be a very busy day though
so be prepared for a wait.
The gardens are free to visit
in the winter and weekdays in peak season and
free admission to the palace is
the 1st Sunday from November until March
(at time of writing).
