This statue of J. Antonio Jarvis In Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas is found near the Emancipation Garden (Alvaro de Lugo) Post Office. The inscription reads
1901-1963
“I try to make my sojourn here a useful interlude.”

The cruise ship left Bridgetown, Barbados late in the day so we were able to capture this beautiful sunset as we walked back from Carlisle Bay to Bridgetown Port. We didn’t stay out much later because I get nervous about wandering around a strange place at night.
