Helsinki Cathedral was built in 1830-1852 as a tribute to
the Grand Duke, Nicholas I, the Tsar of Russia.
It is Helsinki’s most photographed building.

The Temppeliaukio Church in Helsinki Finland
has to be one of the most unique churches in the world.
It was quarried from bedrock (pictured),
dug into the ground,
and is topped by a copper dome.
Entrance is free of charge,
perfect for the frugal traveler.
