While in Paris (a very expensive city for accomodations), we stayed at Hotel Ibis Paris Italie Tolbiac 13eme . They were in the middle of renovations and the prices were quite reasonable. There was a business center in the lobby where we could surf the internet for free. The computers weren’t busy when we used them but that was usually late, late at night or early in the morning. The rooms were small but who spends a lot of time in their room while in Paris?

Pont Louis-Philippe

While travelers might not be able to see the Eiffel Tower from every where in Paris, the river Seine is never too far from key buildings. The Louvre, Notre Dame, and many other attractions line its banks. The Seine splits the city into the Rive Droite (the Right Bank) and Rive Gauche (the Left Bank) and there are over three dozen bridges across the Seine in Paris alone.

Paris is one of my favorite cities. Every where you look there is great architecture and art. This is not by accident. Residents and officials make a concentrated effort to keep the city looking beautiful (for example: there is marble in the McDonalds on the Champs-Elysees).
That means you can spend as little or as much as you’d like, culture-wise. Perfect for the frugal traveler.
