The Palace Of King Minos
at Knossos is, according to legend,
the site where Theseus fought the Minotaur
Ariadne got wrapped up in her ball of string
and is associated with Icarus
(of the wax wings, flying too close to the sun fame)

At the Panathinaiko Stadium,
site of the 1st modern Olympics,
travelers can run around the well maintained track,
run up the marble bleachers,
and wave to imaginary crowds.

These sculptures were behind
a barrier (not a very sturdy one).
Most were not (the naughty traveler could touch them).
Having the room to ourselves (not even a guard around),
we took some goofy photos,
standing behind the headless sculptures.
