Petra Treasury Jordan

A big joy I find in traveling is the people we meet.
At Petra, the hubby got into a serious discussion
with the very friendly taxi driver.
The driver was interested in me
(married isn’t REALLY married
unless the couple has kids)
due to my blue eyes
(considered lucky)
but was bemoaning his financial situation.
He said that every wife
(I’d be the second)
expected her own household
and if he couldn’t afford that,
he coudn’t afford another wife.
He also said that I, as a foreigner,
would never do as first wife.
That honor always falls to a girl
from the same culture
(to raise the kids).
