Fanning Island
Because of the rule about international cruiseships
not sailing to solely U.S. ports,
the Hawaiian cruise included a stop to
Fanning Island, an atoll belonging to the Republic of Kiribati.
Locals cater to the tourists
putting on shows and selling handicrafts.
This was also an excellent place for shell hunting.
