The central parts of the Stockholm
consists of 14 islands and each island has its own “feel” to it.
The oldest section Gamla Stan (Old Town)
still has a medieval street layout.
If visitors to Stockholm want to ground themselves
in the history of Sweden,
I suggest heading to the Museum of National Antiquities (not pictured).
There you’ll see the treasure caches of the Vikings.

The Riddarholmen Church is one of the oldest buildings in Stockholm.
It is the burial site of the Swedish Monarchs.
There is an entrance fee
and no photography is allowed inside.
