The Inn On Mount Ada, Catalina Island
When you wander around Catalina Island,
you’ll notice numerous references to Wrigleys.
Why?
Because in 1919, William Wrigley, Jr. bought 99% of Catalina Island.
He named Mount Ada after his wife
and built a home there
because it received first sunlight in the morning
and the last at sunset.
350 feet above the town and harbor, building commenced in 1920
and completed in 1921.
Famous guests at their island home included
Presidents Calvin Coolidge, Warren Harding, ]
and the Prince of Wales.
The building is now an Inn for some lucky, lucky guests.
