Roscoe’s House Of Chicken ‘n Waffles
is a California tradition.
I’m not exactly sure why.
Yes, the fried chicken was good
and the waffles were good
but they weren’t fantastic.
They do have fantastic deals for service men and women though.
Anyone in the army, navy, or air force
receives 20% off.
If you show up in uniform, that discount increases to 50% off.
It usually takes us around 5 hours straight (no pitstops).
On weekends, it takes longer (add a couple hours).
On holiday weekends, forget about it!
We once did a day in LA.
We drove from Vegas in the morning,
spent the day,
and then drove back.
We’ll NEVER do that again.
We were zombies to the point of dangerous.
The hubby and I jokingly refer to that as the longest trip ever.
As shotgun trying to keep the driver awake,
I was babbling towards the end.
Be careful of your speed.
The police know you want to get there in a rush.
This route is one of their favorites to haunt.
The Dash
Los Angeles is definitely a city
with a dominant car culture
but renting a car is not the only option.
The local transit called the Dash
is one of the least expensive of all the big cities.
Full fare is $0.25 and yes, there is a senior’s discount available.
